nursing links

Open Nurse - the nursing open source network - is an initiative to explore the application of open source software in nursing, healthcare and nursing informatics.

This page forms part of the resources and links section, and provides links to general (non-health or nursing specific) Open Source pages, sites and resources. These include nursing-specific pages about Open Source; at present, there are few of these.

Resource or link

Will Ganz's page on the intersection of nursing informatics and Open Source. Links to his overview of reasons for nurses to learn Linux as an alternative to Windows.

Robin Carriere's website for the Ontario Nursing Informatics Group is developed and maintained using PostNuke; a good example of what can be done with open source software.

Presentations and papers

During 2003, a number of the people involved in Open Nurse will be making presentations at nursing and health informatics conferences.

Information on these will be added here, together with links to the presentation materials where possible.
